What can I expect when I arrive?

Airport pick-up service

As a Study Abroad or Exchange student you are entitled to a free Airport Pick-up. You will need to register for pick-up before you arrive in Australia.

Orientation and the Education Abroad Office

The RMIT Education Abroad Office (EAO) is designed to assist you with transition into life at RMIT. The friendly EAO staff host the compulsory orientation program designed to assist you to settle in as quickly as possible and make the most of your Study Abroad program. You will also finalise your enrolment during this time.

Accommodation

As a Study Abroad student you will have access to the same types of accommodation options that all international students studying at RMIT have.

Many Study Abroad students choose to live in share and rental accommodation while others prefer the convenience of living in a student hostel. If you choose to stay in student hostel accommodation you are encouraged to book in advance when you submit your application for your Study Abroad program*. During the Orientation program, the Education Abroad Office (EAO) will put you in touch with the Housing Advisory Service who will be able to assist you. *pre-booking applies only to RMIT Village. Students must apply directly to the RMIT Village and a payment of AUD$100 is required to secure the booking. The deposit will be refunded if your RMIT application is rejected.
