Experience Days - 2012 school holiday program

RMIT University offers a number of events designed to give students in years 10, 11 and 12 real experience and insight into life on campus, engage in hands on workshops and explore different aspects of art, design, science, community studies and engineering, as well as different study and career options.

Experience Day events


Medical Laboratory Visits

The lab tours provide students interested in a career as a medical scientist, the chance to go behind the scenes into a lab where third year Laboratory Medicine students complete their Professional Practice, including major teaching hospitals in Melbourne and regional Victoria.

Experience Art and Design Day

This is your day of hands-on creative awesomeness. You will experience interactive art and design workshops in ceramics, furniture design, product design, communication design and landscape architecture.

This program offers students the opportunity to see how animation, computing, information technology systems and games graphics are applied to real life situations and how the advances in technology are changing the way we live.

Experience Aerospace, Mechanical and Manufacturing Day

The program offers year 11 and 12 students the chance to see how engineering is changing the way we live. Through a series of hands-on workshops, you will gain an insight into sustainable systems engineering, aerospace, automotive, mechanical and mechatronics engineering.

The Electrical and Computer Engineering program introduces you to engineering technologies that have had a significant impact on modern society. Electrical and computer engineering covers a broad range of technologies from computer systems, networking and communications, through to electrical, biomedical and electronic engineering.

Experience Advertising, Marketing and PR Day

Recommended for anyone considering a career in Advertising, Marketing or PR, this program provides students with an up-to-date overview of industry trends and employment opportunities. Interactive workshops will cover topics such as branding and strategy; integrated marketing communications; creative advertising; account service; media; and new technologies.

Experience Community Justice Day

Do you want to make a difference in the community? Provide social services and legal advice to help create a just, socially aware and responsible community. This day provides an insight for students into legal and community disciplines from the perspective of business, disabilities, policy, politics, social psychology, social work and youth work.

Experience Health and Medical Sciences Day

This program is available for students interested in health and medical sciences. Students may undertake workshops in the following areas: Nursing, Chinese Medicine, biomedical sciences, biomedical engineering, laboratory medicine, pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacy and myotherapy.

Nuclear Medicine Lab Visits

This program is designed for students interested in funding out more about Nuclear Medicine and the role Nuclear Medicine Technologists play in investigation, diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of disease. Students will visit Nuclear Medicine departments that support the Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Radiations) program.
